Yakuza: Like a Dragon is turn-based, modern setting, about crime and has some social and life sim elements, and a ton of mini games.

WEBBattle Chasers: Nightwar and the Epic Battle Fantasy series are smaller games, with similar combat, but less story. Some other good JRPGs on Steam would be: Grandia II. Grandia 1 pc port has problems, but is an amazing game otherwise.

WEBFinal Fantasy IX, turned based. This has the best/strongest medieval setting of any FF afaik, and possibly of all JRPGs. It also has Chocobo Hot & Cold and the associated treasure hunting, which imo are the best sidequests/mini-games in the series. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, turn based.

I think shafted is a bit harsh, especially since other than Unicorn Overlord, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, all the other big releases are also on PC.

A lot of the other Ys games are available on PC, and generally speaking, a potato could run them.
