Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a CBI investigation into CM Chandrababu Naidu's claims about the use of substandard ingredients in Tirupati laddoos during the YSRCP's tenure.

At a legislature party meeting in Vijayawada on Wednesday, marking 100 days of the NDA regime in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that ghee used in the prasadam at the Tirupati Tirumala temple during the previous YSR Congress Party's tenure was adulterated with animal fat.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of purchasing inferior quality ghee for Tirupati laddoo. Lab tests revealed the presence of animal fat in the ghee, leading to the blacklisting of the supplier.

The controversy began when TDP leader and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) administration of using “beef tallow,” “lard” (pig fat), and fish oil in place of pure ghee to prepare the laddus at the revered Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati.
