Beverly police learned on Thursday that a man with an address in the city posted threats to rape Jewish women and encouraged other users of a website to shoot people outside synagogues, the department said in a statement.

A Beverly man is in custody, facing charges of making antisemitic threats and illegally possessing guns and ammunition. WBZ-TV's Paul Burton reports.

The man allegedly possessed the Nazi flag, six boxes of ammunition, several guns and numerous other firearm parts. He also had $70,000 in cash.
