Prosecutors say Walshe was the sole beneficiary of a $2.7 million life insurance policy his wife had taken out.

Lawyers for Brian Walshe, the Cohasset man charged with killing his wife in 2023, have objected to the way prosecutors intend to test DNA evidence.

The motions were filed under seal in Norfolk Superior Court, where Walshe, 49, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, improper conveyance of a body, and lying to investigators in connection with the killing of Ana Walshe.

Brian Walshe, who is accused of killing and dismembering his wife in 2023, returned to a Massachusetts courtroom Wednesday afternoon for a hearing about DNA evidence and records tied to the investigators who worked the case.
