It's been a rough opening month in pinstripes for Yankees closer Devin Williams. His latest ninth inning struggles, in Friday's blown save vs. Toronto, pushed his ERA to 11.25 in 10 appearances.

Williams has an 11.25 ERA with nearly as many walks (seven) as strikeouts (eight) in eight innings over 10 appearances. The right-hander has allowed at least three earned runs three times this season, matching his total from the previous six years combined.

The rain has given the Yankees an extra day to let the Devin Williams decision marinate. But a day after Williams blew a save in the ninth inning with his struggles continuing to mount, manager Aaron Boone continued to leave the door open for a change in the closer’s role just a month into the season.
