The Stanley Cup Final returned to Canada on June 14 for Game 5 between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.

Much has been made about the Edmonton Oilers’ ability to come from behind during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Edmonton has eight comeback wins, equalling the franchise record for a single postseason.

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final was a night to forget for Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman and one that could define Brad Marchand’s legacy with the Florida Panthers. For one, Florida’s 5–2 win in Edmonton put them one victory away from back-to-back titles. Regarding Marchand, he scored twice, with both goals coming at Walman’s expense.

The Edmonton Oilers dropped Game 5 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final to the Florida Panthers. From the start of the game, Florida looked very much in control and used that to grab a massive 3-2 series lead over the Oilers.
