Amid slowing property value increases and declining revenues, Fort Worth is staying the course in its fiscal year 2025 budget.

The $722 million budget incorporates a 1-cent tax rate increase expected to bring in an estimated $4.1 million.

Fort Worth plans to invest an extra $10.4 million from PayGo funding into street repairs, aiming to save on future costs without raising taxes.

The council kept the city’s property tax rate at 67.25 cents per $100 valuation. The owner of a $300,000 home with a homestead exemption would pay $1,614 in city property taxes. The city estimates this will translate to a $65 increase for the average Fort Worth homeowner.

Dallas residents will have a lower tax rate and higher utility fees after the City Council approved the largest budget in the city’s history on Wednesday. The unanimously approved $4.97 billion spending plan goes into effect Oct.
