Syrian, U.S. and Jordanian officials say they will work together toward a permanent ceasefire in a southern Syrian region wracked by deadly sectarian clashes last month that threatened the country’s fragile security in the wake of its yearslong civil war.

It also focused on supporting ‘the Syrian government’s efforts to consolidate’ a ceasefire in Suwayda province.

The gathering on Tuesday follows talks held in Amman on July 19, 2025, which focused on consolidating the ceasefire in Syria’s southern province of Sweida and resolving the crisis there
