Defenseman Kris Letang is focused on training camp and the start of the upcoming season, but he was also ready to refute offseason speculation that he asked for a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins. He made sure to clear the air about the rumour that was put out there by radio host Mark Madden about his request to be moved to the Montreal Canadiens.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have enjoyed a remarkable run with their core trio of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang, winning the Stanley Cup three times which included back-to-back championships in 2016 and 2017.

Kris Letang is healthy and happy. The former is expected after offseason surgeries on his finger and wrist. The latter is important amid offseason speculation that he asked for a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Defenseman Sebastian Aho signed a two-year deal as the Penguins attempt to fortify the blue line behind Letang, Karlsson and Marcus Pettersson.
