The Las Vegas Raiders are low on depth at the safety position. After the loss of Lonnie Johnson Jr. to injury, the team has left a hole at the position. A sign of this was Chris Smith II playing 45 snaps and Trey Taylor playing 30 snaps after the first preseason game.

The Raiders added a veteran safety to the roster on Sunday. They announced the signing of Terrell Edmunds to their 90-man roster. He will take the roster spot of wide receiver Seth Williams, who has been waived with an injury designation.

The Raiders recently signed former Jets first-round safety Jamal Adams, and Edmunds’ addition serves as more evidence of a complete secondary overhaul taking place in the new Tom Brady–Las Vegas regime.
