An impressive number of Austin-area boys high school basketball teams have advanced to the regional semifinals — or in the case of two TAPPS schools, the state tournament — following wins last weekend in the area round.

The UIL Texas high school boys basketball playoffs have advanced to the regionals, with a few Austin teams still in the running for state.

Duke, Houston and Tennessee each moved up in the top five of this week's coaches poll. Auburn is No. 1, receiving 28 of 30 first-place votes, but the Blue Devils jumped Florida to take take No. 2 in this week's poll after their rout of Illinois on Saturday and garnered two first-place votes.

Tennessee basketball earned a marquee win by beating Texas A&M 77-69 on Saturday. It is UT's second top-10 win this season.
