Eli Lilly has been accused of giving illegal inducements to encourage medical providers in Texas to prescribe its medicines in a new lawsuit backed by state Attorney General Ken Paxton.

"Big Pharma compromised medical decision-making by engaging in an illegal kickback scheme," Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said.

Paxton's office said the company supplied free nurses to help care for patients who received its drugs, as well as administrative support services that helped providers process insurance claims.
