The largest union for federal employees plans to lay off more than half its staff nationwide after President Donald Trump’s anti-union executive orders have rapidly weakened the organization’s finances.

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the administration of President Donald Trump from stripping hundreds of thousands of federal employees of the ability to unionize and collectively bargain over working conditions.

An order signed by President Trump last month was aimed at stripping collective bargaining rights from hundreds of thousands of federal workers.
