MAUSTON – A Juneau County judge has set a $5 million cash bail for a man charged with killing 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba and two girls, ages 12 and 13. Virgil G. Thew, 47, of New Lisbon, faces three counts of first-degree intentional homicide that were filed Jan. 3. Juneau County Circuit Court Judge Stacey Smith set Thew's bond Friday afternoon.

Authorities said Thursday that they captured a man wanted in the killing of a Wisconsin woman and two girls. The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that the suspect was arrested Thursday.

Law enforcement authorities in Wisconsin have arrested and charged a man they believe killed two juveniles and an adult in late December. The New Lisbon Police Department confirmed it had arrested 47-year-old Virgil Thew after an 11-day search.
