McLaren Racing has confirmed sole ownership of Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team, which went into effect on December 31, 2024. The full acquisition by McLaren Racing comes after the final phase of its buyout from Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson.

McLaren is now 100 percent owner of the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team after the final phase of ownership was transferred from partners Same Schmidt and Rick Peterson.

McLaren Racing is now the sole owner of the former Arrow McLaren IndyCar team in the NTT IndyCar Series. McLaren Racing completed the transition from Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team on December 31 as part of what McLaren says is "deepening its commitment to motorsport in North America."

McLaren Racing has bought out its former IndyCar co-owners Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson as the team grows its North American presence.

McLaren Racing has completed its full buyout of what was once the Arrow McLaren SP and Schmidt Peterson Racing IndyCar team. In other words, Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson no longer have any financial stake in what is now Arrow McLaren.

McLaren bought a 75% stake in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES team in 2021, which had evolved from Schmidt Peterson Motorsports to Arrow McLaren SP and most recently to Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team in 2023. Schmidt and Peterson retained minority ownership from 2021-24.
