Dragon Quest 11, XCOM 2, and Marvel's Midnight Suns are among many heavily discounted games in Steam's turn-based RPG sale. Those are some of my favorite turn-based games ever, but there are also a ton of other great (and more recent) games on sale that I haven't played and which are currently threatening me and my poor wallet.

Turn-based strategy games and RPGs of all sorts are getting their turn in the sale spotlight over at Steam. Through Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. EST, you can score discounts on a range of titles that’ll definitely keep you busy for a while on your gaming PC or Steam Deck.

XCOM 2, arguably the modern standard by which all other turn-based tactics games are judged, is at a huge 95% discount for only $3/£2/€2.49. You'll have a hard time finding a better gameplay-per-dollar ratio on hand-building a team of elite alien hunters who'll break your heart when they're inevitably brutalized by a chrysalid.
