Baldwin, of Newfield, was riding the on-ramp from Route 40 eastbound to Route 55 southbound when he lost control of his motorcycle, police said. The bike struck a curb and entered into opposing traffic. He was thrown from his bike after striking the unknown vehicle, which fled the scene before troopers arrived, police said.
