The Shipwreck Treasure Museum in Cornwall, England, is selling its collection, which includes items connected to nearly 150 shipwrecks

It’s unlikely that much else from the Titanic ’s wreckage will ever return to the surface, although a number of artifacts have been salvaged since the famous ocean liner’s rediscovery in 1985. Now, one of those pieces of history is headed to auction—a hunk of coal originally intended as fuel for the 882-foot-long vessel’s boilers.

A treasure trove of thousands of artefacts recovered from shipwrecks is to be auctioned off. The Shipwreck Treasure Museum in Charlestown, near St Austell, has been on the market for some time, complete with its collection of more than 7,000 items.

Owned by Sir Tim Smit, co-founder of the Eden Project, the museum houses treasures gathered from the wrecks of the Mary Rose, Titanic, Lusitania and the Royal Charter, as well as from the Royal Yacht Britannia, Admiral Nelson and HMS Victory.

Hundreds of items recovered from shipwrecks, including cannons, crockery, and other treasures are being put up for auction. The artefacts, dating from the 16th Century to more recent wrecks, are part of the collection at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum in Charlestown,
