A man accused of killing a Democratic state lawmaker while posing as a police officer is expected to appear in a Minnesota court on Monday afternoon on state murder charges, after a massive two-day manhunt ended with his arrest on Sunday night.

Mayor Ryan Sabas of Champlin said state senator John Hoffman and state representative Melissa Hortman were shot, and that Hoffman's wife was also shot.

A state lawmaker and her husband were shot and killed, and a second lawmaker and his wife were shot and wounded early Saturday.
