WTA Finals: In-form Elena Rybakina mounts comeback vs Jessica Pegula to reach final
Elena Rybakina is through to her maiden WTA Finals final after completing a big comeback and beating Jessica Pegula 4-6 6-4 6-3 in just over two hours of play.
Jessica Pegula advanced from the Stefanie Graf Group with a 6-2, 6-3 victory, locking up the No. 2 seed behind Aryna Sabalenka and adding another milestone to an already strong season.
Gauff won the 2024 WTA Tour Finals, also in Riyadh, beating Zheng Qinwen 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2). The current world No. 3 won four of her five matches last year, becoming the youngest champion since Maria Sharapova in 2004.
The 2025 WTA Tour Finals began November 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the top eight singles players and doubles pairs in the world battling for supremacy and Iga Świątek and Elena Rybakina dominating the opening day.

Swiatek falls to 62-16 on the season, while Rybakina improves to 54-20 on the year. Moreover, she has won 10 of her last 11 matches, with the lone loss coming against the top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka in the Wuhan Open quarterfinal.
Victoria Mboko, 19, has just claimed her second WTA title after overcoming 68th-ranked Spaniard Cristina Bucsa 7-5 6-7 (9) 6-2 in the Hong Kong final.
