The mother sisters of a Georgia woman who's abortion related death was deemed preventable by state maternal death review committee, shared their story with VP Harris and Oprah during a live stream event on Thursday.

It’s Amber Nicole Thurman. She was 28 and worked as a medical assistant and had a 6-year-old son whom she loved to take to petting zoos and the beach. As was horribly predictable, in a country where Black women seek abortions at higher rates and die far more commonly from maternal-health complications,

Thurman, 28, experienced a rare complication after taking abortion pills and died during emergency surgery in August 2022, ProPublica reported.
