Ford Motor Co. has slashed the cost of its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving subscription and added a new one-time purchase option.

Ford has rolled out new and more affordable BlueCruise subscriptions and purchase plans. Customers can spend $2,495 to get BlueCruise for a minimum of seven years. The automaker will also offer monthly and annual subscriptions for $49.

As you're well aware, there's an obvious correlation between price and demand. Although the Ford Motor Company doesn't mention demand even once in the attached press release, Dearborn's favorite son highlights lower annual and monthly plan pricing for BlueCruise in the US market.

There’s some fine print at the bottom of the announcement, though. Ford guarantees BlueCruise service will “be active for a minimum of seven years” with the one-time purchase. That seemed a rather odd way of putting it, so we asked Ford for further clarification.
