CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Teachers Union on Thursday accused Chicago Public Schools officials of purposely slowing down contract negotiations. CPS denied doing any such thing—insisting it is bargaining in good faith.

Leaders of the Chicago Teachers Union say there's been a shift since Tuesday's court ruling in regards to negotiating a new contract.

The Chicago Teachers Union is moving quickly to finalize a new contract with Chicago Public Schools. CPS and CTU have been without a contract since June 30, when the previous collective bargaining agreement expired.

Members of the Chicago Teachers Union expressed frustration Thursday after spending the day at the bargaining table with fired CEO Pedro Martinez. CTU President Stacy Davis Gates said there was progress when Martinez wasn’t there.
