Early Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for several North Texas counties. The warning goes into effect 6 a.m. Thursday and will continue until 12 p.m. Friday for counties including Denton,

The Tennessee Valley could see some of the heaviest snowfall, with 6 inches expected on Friday. A wide swath of the country is under winter weather warnings and advisories and will see impacts including "widespread closures, treacherous travel, scattered power outages, and downed branches," the weather service said.

Storm Warning is now in effect for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Meteorologists have a clearer picture of what to expect for today and tomorrow, just ahead of the big game in DFW.
