A judge partially froze a provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act just days after President Trump signed it into law.

Planned Parenthood said it intends to sue the Trump administration over the recently passed “big, beautiful bill” that would “defund” the nonprofit health clinic. Republicans’ massive tax and spending bill includes a provision that would prohibit Medicaid funds from being used to reimburse health clinics that provide elective abortions.

A provision in the budget reconciliation bill known as the One Big Beautiful Bill that passed in Congress and was signed by President Trump effectively defunds the clinics. The law doesn't specifically name Planned Parenthood, but it bars Medicaid payments to large health care nonprofits that offer abortions.
