Samsung has started rolling out November 2024 security update for the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S23 series in the US.

A new month means new updates are arriving and it’s not Google’s Pixel devices that are up first. Instead, Samsung was quick with the new builds, sending November patches to the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series.

The update tackles a whopping 38 vulnerabilities in the core Android OS, all labeled as high risk. These vulnerabilities could potentially allow attackers to access user data without permission, cause memory corruption, and lead to other serious issues. Additionally, the update addresses 13 vulnerabilities specific to Samsung's One UI.

Amidst Samsung gearing up for the first One UI 7 beta release, the company is delivering prompt security patches.

We might see a brighter screen on the Galaxy S25, but the S23 holds its ground pretty well too. There's no huge reason to upgrade if you focus on the display tech alone. Of course, we need to run our tests on the Galaxy S25 when it lands in our lab, so stay tuned for that.
