Virginia has a new record lottery winner after an anonymous player claimed the $348 million jackpot from the June 27 Mega Millions drawing.

The $348 million jackpot in the June 27 Mega Millions drawing was won by a single ticket, which was bought at E & C Mid Atlantic, located at 14878 Northumberland Highway in Burgess. That ticket matched all six winning numbers: 18-21-29-42-50 and the Mega Ball number 2.

The largest lottery jackpot ever won in Virginia has been claimed, and the winner told officials that they plan to buy a riding lawn mower.

The Mega Millions drawing was held Friday, June 27, and the $348 million jackpot was won by a single ticket purchased. The ticket was bought at E & C Mid Atlantic in Burgess. The ticket matched all six winning numbers: 18-21-29-42-50 and the Mega Ball number 2, said lottery officials.

Nearly 215,000 other tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $10 to $3 million in the drawing.

The Virginia winner of the $348 million Mega Millions jackpot in June will remain anonymous, but did reveal the first purchase will be zero-turn riding lawn mower.

The Mega Millions jackpot rose to $198 million for the drawing on Friday, Aug. 15, after no one matched all the winning numbers in the drawing on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
