United Auto Workers union President Shawn Fain announced Tuesday he will take "strike action" against Stellantis for failing to follow through on a deal that ended last year's six-week strike.

The UAW leader wrote a letter to a senior Stellantis executive, discussing disputes over the Dodge SUV and a closed Illinois plant.

Fain said in an interview after the rally the number of demands sounds like a lot though some involve basic work rules. The union president said the UAW and VW are starting negotiations from scratch unlike prior contracts with the Detroit Three automakers, and it's unclear how long bargaining will take in Chattanooga.
