On Thursday, Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the FBI, will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on why he believes he should be approved to serve as head of the agency.

Confirming Patel "would endanger the FBI's integrity and compromise its critical mission," the former officials wrote.

His nomination roiled FBI insiders, with reports emerging that the bureau could face mass resignations should he secure the post.

Patel is a controversial nominee, having long raged against the so-called Deep State and prioritized his loyalty to Trump.
