Tributes to R&B soul singer Angie Stone continued to pour in on social media Sunday following reports of the Grammy-nominated artist’s sudden death in a car crash early Saturday morning. Her family also issued a statement on Monday morning.
The Neo Soul singer was killed early Saturday morning when riding back into Atlanta from Alabama when the vehicle she was in was hit by a rig and flipped over.
A fraudulent GoFundMe campaign claiming to support the legacy of Grammy-nominated singer Angie Stone has been shut down after raising more than $12,000.
Lightfoot said Stone was a great performer, but an even better person. “Angie was a soulful spirit and she will be immensely missed,” Lightfoot said. Stone was leaving Mobile and headed back here to Atlanta when the incident happened. The incident remains under investigation.
