Stone Roses and Primal Scream ex-bass player Gary Mounfield has died at age 63. Those groups were two of the most influential British rock bands of the past four decades.

Brother Cane, known for hits like "Got No Shame" and "Fools Shine On," will release "Magnolia Medicine," the band's first album since 1998, in early 2026. Lead single "If This Means War" is out now.

Gary "Mani" Mounfield, bassist for influential British band The Stone Roses who later joined Primal Scream, has died at 63.
