Kash Patel was confirmed as the new FBI Director by the Senate Thursday in a 51-49 vote. According to the Western Journal, Democrats attempted to draw out the confirmation process, while it was opposed by Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine.

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - The Senate voted to confirm Kash Patel as the next director of the FBI on Thursday afternoon. Patel was approved by a vote of 51-49, mostly along party lines. Every Democrat in the Senate voted against him while Republicans largely supported him with the exception of Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME).
