In a first-of-its kind operation, a drone boat built by Austin-based Saronic Technologies found and rescued the crew of a U.S. Apache helicopter that crashed early Tuesday near the Strait of Hormuz.

The US launched strikes against Iran in response to the downing of an Army Apache helicopter off the coast of Oman, according to a statement from US Central Command.

"The Soldiers were safely rescued within approximately two hours and are in stable condition," CENTCOM said in a post on X.
