A new surge of evacuation orders emptied the neighborhoods of Brentwood and Encino as the siege of Los Angeles fires continued to lay waste to broad swaths of the city over the weekend.

Residents in the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Encino and Brentwood woke up to large plumes of smoke looming nearby, stemming from the Palisades Fire, which has been raging since Tuesday.
