Elon Musk's xAI said Grok's behavior was due to an update that caused it to prioritize engagement, even if posts contained "controversial opinions."
On Wednesday night, Elon Musk unveiled xAI's latest flagship models Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy via livestream, just one day after the company's Grok chatbot began generating outputs that featured blatantly antisemitic tropes in responses to users on X.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced she was stepping down from her position a day after the company’s Grok artificial intelligence chatbot went haywire and began calling itself “MechaHitler.” Yaccarino’s departing message was positive and did not mention Tuesday’s scandal.
