Hurricane Milton, which re-strengthened to a Category 5 hurricane Tuesday afternoon, is taking aim at Florida's west coast. Landfall is expected late Wednesday night as a Category 3 hurricane.Milton is closing in as Floridians are still recovering from the devastation unleashed by Hurricane Helene.

Hurricane Milton began its turn toward Florida on Tuesday rebounding back to Category 5 strength with a forecast landfall near Tampa Bay with up to 15-foot storm surge, and a projected path that will cut through Central Florida,

More than 5.5 million people were urged to leave Florida’s western coast, one of the largest evacuations in state history. Some who have stayed for previous storms decided to go this time.
