Sherrone Moore, Michigan football re-hire Biff Poggi in official capacity to Wolverines coaching staff; had previous served as Jim Harbaugh's associate head coach

The NCAA coaching carousel is in full swing, and Michigan just made a move that should turn some heads. Less than two weeks after the College Football Playoff National Championship, the Wolverines are bringing back a familiar face.

“Biff Poggi, most recently the head coach at Charlotte and previously associate head coach under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, is back with the Wolverines in an official capacity,” Alejandro Zúñiga said in a post.

The Michigan Wolverines' coaching staff is set to reunite with a familiar face this offseason, bringing back a beloved figure to the Michigan sideline. According to On3's The Wolverine, former Michigan coach Biff Poggi is re-joining the Wolverines' staff in some capacity this season.

Illinois football coach Bret Bielema threw some shade at former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh in tweets amid a reported effort by UM against the NCAA in its sign-stealing investigation. And Bielema used some old videos of Harbaugh speaking out the importance of integrity and the value of telling the truth to help make his point.

Poggi would return to Michigan in 2021 and was the associate head coach under Jim Harbaugh for two seasons. Then, Poggi became the head coach for Charlotte, although he went just 6-16 before being fired in November after four consecutive losses.
