San Jose police arrested two suspects in a July 20 fatal stabbing in the city’s downtown, the department said Wednesday.

Raymond Orozco, 22, was fatally stabbed, July 20, 2025, in downtown San Jose, Calif., while trying to stop an attack on a friend, his parents said.

Last weekend, Raymond Orozco was killed while trying to stop a fight between his female friend and another woman. On Saturday, family and friends held a vigil at Lake Merritt to remember his life.

The incident happened on July 20 at about 12:51 a.m. on S. Second Street near E. San Fernando Street in Downtown San Jose.
