"Succession" creator Jesse Armstrong is back at HBO, this time with a film. IndieWire can confirm that Armstrong's next project after wrapping "Succession" in 2023 is a feature film set during an international financial crisis.

Jesse Armstrong has landed on his follow-up to Succession at HBO — but it’s not a series project. Armstrong, who created the multiple Emmy-winning series, is now writing a feature film for HBO. He’ll also serve as an executive producer alongside Frank Rich; the two were EPs of Succession together.

However, his next project officially won't be a return to the world of Succession. Instead, it will be a feature film set during the financial crisis. Armstrong will write the film based on an original idea, and will executive produce with Frank Rich. (The two also executive produced Succession .)
