The winning streak came to an end for Florida basketball on Saturday in Lexington, where the Kentucky Wildcats beat it for the first time this season in a 106-100 shootout to open up the Southeastern Conference schedule.

Florida dropped three spots to No. 8 in the updated Coaches Poll released Monday after suffering its first loss to Kentucky. The Gators entered last weekend as one of three unbeaten teams remaining before losing to the Wildcats 106-100 in the SEC opener for both teams.

Tennessee keeps hold of the No. 1 spot in the USA TODAY Sports men's college basketball poll for the fifth consecutive week. Kansas fell from top 10.

Wisconsin basketball (11-3, 1-2 Big Ten) somehow remains outside the top 25 of the USA TODAY Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll. The latest edition was released on Jan. 6, three days after the Badgers’ statement win over Iowa. Wisconsin entered the ‘receiving votes’ category, tallying just three voting points. That total has the team tied for 36th.
