General Motors (GM) is recalling more than 70,000 cars due to faulty hood molding that may cause the front grille of the vehicles to detach, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

When GMC introduced the latest version of the Sierra, the brand touted the wider and bolder grille. Now, more than 70,000 examples of the truck are at the center of a new recall — because a part of that grille might just fly off at random. In fact, several of them have reportedly taking flight while drivers are on the road.

The recall is necessary as the attachments that hold the front grille deflectors in place can fracture over time, causing the grille to detach. If that happens, it can increase the risk of a crash. USA Today reports GM has received 1,225 field complaints potentially related to the issue.
