Matt Chapman joined some select San Francisco baseball company — including Willie Mays — with his massive day at the plate on Friday. The 33-year-old third baseman hit his fourth career grand slam, a three-run homer and added a sacrifice fly to finish with a career-high eight RBIs in the Giants' 18-3 rout of the slumping Chicago Cubs.

Adames gave the Giants a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with his farthest-hit ball of the season, turning a 99.5 mph four-seam fastball from the Cubs’ Edward Cabrera into a 427-foot two-run home run that registered at 107.0 mph off the bat.

Matt Chapman had a grand slam and eight RBIs and joined Willy Adames and Casey Schmitt in hitting two home runs apiece as the San Francisco Giants routed the Cubs 18-3 on Friday.
