Disney's process to identify CEO Bob Iger's successor will officially include external candidates as well as four current executives.

Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) is reportedly looking further afield as it considers candidates in a closely watched process of deciding succession for longtime CEO Bob Iger. Conventional wisdom has held that Iger's successor would come from among four insider executives.

Disney is exploring fresh candidates in its search for a successor to Bob Iger, including some from outside its castle walls, as the board and its newly named chairman move to bring order to a closely watched succession process.

Gorman is executive chairman of Morgan Stanley and as previously announced he will be stepping down from that role on Dec. 31, 2024. He oversaw the recent succession process at Morgan Stanley, where he had previously served as the firm’s CEO. In August, the board tapped Gorman to lead the CEO succession committee, taking over the role from Parker.

Or, in the case of Disney boss Bob Iger, how he didn’t spend his money. According to regulatory filings ( via Puck News), Iger—a 2016 Hillary Clinton supporter, a 2020 Joe Biden donor, and a contributor to many of Kamala Harris’ past campaigns in California—did not donate any money to either candidate.
