Upon arrival, officers learned that a silver four-door sedan struck a pickup truck.The occupants of the truck were not injured, but when officers inspected the sedan, they discovered a bullet hole in the passenger side door and found the driver with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

A 29-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Cumberland County, authorities said. Trevon Johnson was driving west on Parvins Mill Road (Route 645) in Deerfield when he veered off the road and struck a tree, State Police said. Johnson, of Vineland, was pronounced dead at the scene following the 8:25 p.m. crash.

The authorities believe the crash, into a union’s strike-day demonstration, was a deliberate attack. The suspect is a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker who was known to the police.
