CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones recently provided some insight into that question, along with what he is hearing. Jonathan Jones says that Indianapolis will "surely want Jones back," but the two sides agreeing to contract terms is going to be the challenge, given Jones' Achilles injury.

Quarterback Daniel Jones is reportedly expected to be back in time for the start of the 2026 NFL season, but his future with the Indianapolis Colts isn't yet certain.

Though Daniel Jones' resurgent 2025 season came to a bitter end, Michael Pittman Jr. believes the Indianapolis Colts should bring him back in 2026.

Daniel Jones underwent surgery that is expected to sideline him for 6-8 months, giving the Colts QB the ability to be fully cleared for the start of next summer's training camp, sources told ESPN.
