Harley has expanded its reach to include the Indian market, but its small displacement models have yet to come stateside.

Back in 2019, Harley-Davidson decided to exit the world’s largest two-wheeler market, India. The reasons were low sales and high import duties. But in 2020, Indian giant Hero MotoCorp extended a helping hand to the American giant in India. The two soon joined hands to co-develop motorcycles, eventually birthing the Harley-Davidson X 440 in 2023.

Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson will extend their partnership to develop a new motorcycle and also expand the X440 range.

India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has extended its partnership with US-based premium motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson. The duo aim to co-develop and manufacture a new motorcycle as well as expand the existing co-developed model into new variants.

The companies have inked a pact for extension of existing collaboration to expand the X440 motorcycle model into new variants and develop a new motorcycle, the country's largest two-wheeler maker said in a regulatory filing.
