India has won the toss and elected to bowl first in the series-opening T20 against England's cricketers in Kolkata.

After a stellar 2024 in which India ruled the T20 format, Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir would hope for the same as IND take on ENG in the first of the five matches at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

India won the first T20I match by seven wickets after Abhishek Sharma's 79 off just 34 balls. He lost his wicket at the end but his brilliant knock helped India win the match in just the 13th over. He batted with a strike rate of 232 and hit eight sixes in his inning. Tilak Varma played the winning shot off Mark Wood.
