An Austin Police Department officer has been placed on administrative leave following a shooting that happened in Lockhart over the weekend, the agency said in a news release Wednesday. Police said they shot their department-approved firearm during the shooting.

A man accused of shooting someone, barricading himself inside a Lockhart home, and being shot by an Austin police SWAT officer, has been identified.

A man is facing aggravated assault charges after police say he shot someone, then fled and barricaded himself inside a home in Lockhart.

Lockhart police received a 911 call about 3 p.m. reporting a "physical assault" in the 900 block of South Brazos Street, a news release said, and officers found a man who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and has been released, Lockhart police said.

A 13-year-old male has been charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity following a series of vehicle burglaries in the Summerside subdivision, according to the Lockhart Police
