Gov. Newsom is in Washington, D.C. this week to seek more protections for California policies before the Trump administration takes over.

Gov. Gavin Newsom and California’s congressional Democrats met privately for an hour Wednesday to map out what they expect to be an ugly, uphill fight against President-elect Donald Trump’s anticipated efforts to roll back liberal policies in California.

Gavin Newsom does not want to play with Donald Trump. So he will huff and puff, and posture for the nation, to make himself – and his state, which is also mine – the righteous Avignon to Trump’s crude Rome.
