A statement by King Soopers accused union negotiators of “stall tactics and creating uncertainty.” The company said its final offer included significant investments of up to a 6% increase in the first year of the contract and “promises to support, protect and invest” in employees’ interests.

Around 10,000 King Soopers employees are getting ready to vote on a potential strike following failed contract negotiations with the grocer.

Contracts between King Soopers management and union workers expired at midnight. Workers are prepared to strike after negotiations broke down Friday.

The clock is ticking as contracts across the state expire between the union representing grocery workers in Colorado and Kroger, the parent company of King Soopers and City Market.
